People will Help
One the underlaying lessons in my book is how God uses people to help and move other people towards their God given purpose. The key to this is not to be a lone wolf and purposely try to do everything yourself. I had and yes I say I had an experience with someone who I thought was a person who vision, leadership and aspirations. I connected with this person quickly and my wife and I connected and dove in head first to help their ministry. We devoted time, money, sweat equity. Unfortunately, after about a year we began to realize that it wasn’t a collaborative effort we were more of “Yes Men” just doing what they wanted, which wasn’t truly working. Once I approached the situation once again after speaking with my mentors we were pushed to side as we offered help, called out the fact that there is no collaboration, and frankly were not spoken to for months. We hung in there with hope for change but eventually we withdrew fully. What that leader at the time did not realize is that God was not only putting us there but others too that were willing to help the cause and had gifts and talents to offer. This leader showed that he was not open to it and frankly push everyone away.
We need to be opened to listen and hear others ideas and take action on them. We need to take the time to let others open up and describe what they are thinking. We need to make sure we have an openness to out demeanor to make sure we are always approachable. God puts people into your life to help you and to guide you. Don’t be closed minded and never be afraid to ask for help.
